I thought to myself that I was the first person to open it since Candace penned the words I was about to read in its pages. I flipped the pages. The pages were filled with simple scribbled writing in what appeared to be pencil. . . . . No, it seemed that this writing was more of a personal nature. It was probably written for her eyes only. In places the pencil was more worn than others, almost indiscernible. As I suspected it was a journal or diary of some kind. I began to read the first entry.
